Gollatz Cotillion History

The Gollatz Cotillion began with Miss Virginia Gollatz in 1932. Her first Cotillion was held at the Huntington Sheraton Hotel and soon many other local communities followed. Many families will recall her grace and talent as she instucted her Cotillion classes. Her brother, Robert Gollatz was first an assistant to Miss Virginia Gollatz and then her dance partner. Together they traveled the world to bring back different styles and dances from far-away places. In 1945 Dorys Gollatz joined the Gollatz team as Robert's wife. More Cotillions flurished, Miss Virginia Gollatz retired in 1953 and Dorys and Robert Gollatz began their legacy. During Their reign, Disco and the Hustle were taught. Cotillion was on it's way to be modernized.

In 1970 Dorys and Robert Gollatz's daughter began as an assistant and by 1983 she now was the third generation to continue the Family Legacy. In 2006 her husband, Wilbur P. Klapp III and she now host more than 20 Cotillions in California and Nevada. As the Legacy continues so does the modernization with now dining skills and dinners.
