​ The Senior Club brings awareness to the young adult in today's ever changing environment.  Our series of classes offer a new and unique concept for the more mature student. During the class, they are challenged with instruction suited to their age all in a fun atmosphere. 

​Schedule of Dates for Senior Club with Life Skills

Thursday, September 7, 2023~ Social Instruction: How to sew on a button; how to conduct yourself and questions to ask for a face to face interview; where to properly place a name tag on your person. Included within the evening will be Cotillion style dancing and light refreshments. *Please note: Senior Club Dress Code required.  

 

Thursday, October 5, 2023 ~ Social Instruction: Learning the table setting and utensil placement; how to correctly use a fork and knife and proper tipping. Included within the evening will be Cotillion style dancing and light refreshments. *Please note: Senior Club Dress Code required.

​Thursday, November 2, 2023 ~ Social Instruction ( Dinner Served): Surcharges on purchases; credit card percentages; debit cards and hidden fees. A complete dinner will be served to each registered student with Cotillion style dancing. *Please note: Senior Club Dress Code required.  

 

​​​Thursday, January 25, 2024 ~ Social Instruction: Self - defense will be instructed along with teaching your child to be more observant of their surroundings; taught to say "No";  recognizing forbidden areas on a cell phone and learning escape techniques and having a "command presence". (If your child would not like to actively participate in this class they may observe). 

*Note dress code for January 25th: This event ONLY we ask that the students do NOT wear their Cotillion attire but dress casually.

Parents are encouraged to be involved in their child's social media choices and to remain and learn from this class.

 

 

Dress Code for the Senior Club with Life Skills Series (only):

Girls: May wear nice pants and blouse with simple shoes 

Boys: Dress shirt, necktie and nice pants, a blazer is NOT required.

Exception: The self-defense evening ( January 25, 23) wear loose comfortable clothing (ie: loose pants or shorts with tennis shoes for both girls and boys)

**The La Canada Country Club and the Gollatz Cotillion can accommodate most dietary restrictions however, some dietary restrictions are life threatening. It is asked of the families with children who have severe food restrictions that you provide their personal food items as this guarantees the safety and well-being of your child. Please contact the Cotillion office to discuss accommodations. **
